Boosters look ahead to early fall events 
July 12, 2010

Members of the Montezuma Community Boosters looked back at "Let Freedom Ring" and ahead toward future events during their monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 7, at Hometown Restaurant.

Joel Kercheval of Montezuma State Bank was a special guest.

Marcia Christensen reported the next "Summer Nights" event will be on Tuesday, July 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the courthouse square. It will run in conjunction with one of the Diamond Trail Cruise Nights which run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Pastor Charles Klink of the Montezuma Ministerial Association reported that discussions are under way to repeat the 'holy walk' event during Montezuma's Christmas event in December.

It was announced that Montezuma Harvest Market will be on Sept. 18.

The Boosters' Scarecrow contest, held in conjunction with the school's homecoming event, will run Sept. 9-18.

An update about the school bond vote will be given during the Boosters' September meeting. The election is Sept. 14.

It was noted that a new video rental and children's clothing store has opened on the square at the former Apple Basket location.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, Aug. 4 at 11:30 a.m. in Hometown Restaurant.
