Boosters promote Montezuma community
The Montezuma Community Boosters is a non-profit group of unpaid volunteers who promote the Montezuma area as an attractive place in which to live and do business.
We do this with ongoing meetings, and with several major seasonal events:

The Boosters promote shopping in Montezuma via the sale of Monte Bucks that can be used at any Montezuma business. Monte Bucks may be purchased from Deb at Vannoy Chevrolet.
The Boosters have a luncheon meeting, at 11:30 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month at locations that are announced. The hour-long sessions include a business meeting and guest speakers. Please feel free to attend and introduce yourself!
We have a “Buy Montezuma” campaign. This is an educational effort using electronic and print media, and signage, encouraging people to think about Montezuma first before purchasing. With gasoline prices skyrocketing, it costs to shop out of town. This was an educational campaign, spread over six months, intended to get people to think about supporting their hometown.
Becoming active in 2006 was the Montezuma Improvement Association, an economic development committee that complements the efforts of the Pow-I-80 group in expanding housing and business in the Montezuma area.
We receive some income from our events, but none are designed as fund-raisers. Our goal is to promote Montezuma and get people used to the idea of coming here. Most of our money has been raised through membership dues, and a little from vendor fees charged at the Business Expo.
Kids of all ages enjoy visiting Santa and Mrs. Claus every year.

Monte Bucks are issued by the Montezuma Community Boosters and they can be used to purchase goods and services in Montezuma.
They are issued in $5 denominations and you can use them just like cash.
They make a great gift for that special, hard-to-buy-for person who lives in the Montezuma area.
And, if you’re a manager at an area corporation or other business, they’re an idea for your incentive program. You’ll benefit your employees and the Montezuma community!
If you’re a business owner and you receive Monte Bucks, just deposit them like cash at Montezuma State Bank.
Oh, and by the way, there’s no expiration date on Monte Bucks.

There are costs associated with these events, from providing entertainment and refreshments, to promoting and advertising the events.
