April 22, 2008
Thanks to the big kids, the little kids will have more toys to play with!
Students in the Montezuma High School Leadership Class hosted a dance marathon from 6 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, April 19th in the high school gym. The purpose: To raise funds for toys for Montezuma's preschool classes.
An estimated 75 to 80 students attended the marathon and raised just over $1,000. They had been shooting for $500 at this first-time event.
Instructor Cathe Wilson praised the leadership team of Jake Kercheval, Jessica Menary, Sammy Hohenshell, Brett Gregson, Stephanie Audas, Andy Cox, Jessica Long and Monica Miller.
"Several members worked from 1:30 p.m. Saturday to 1:30 a.m. Sunday to make the "Raise Funds for Little Ones' a success, from both the participation and money viewpoints," Wilson said.
