Grid fans will see Donovan - and Pekin - again

Montezuma football fans will again be seeing Coach Joe Donovan along the sidelines - but it will be the opposite sideline - as Donovan's Pekin Panthers and the Braves will be in re-aligned District 6 of Class A this fall.

Here is the district: BGM, English Valleys, Lynnville-Sully, Montezuma, North Mahaska, Pekin, Pleasantville and Southeast Warren.

The district opposite is Disctrict 5. Teams are: Danville, Highland, Lisbon, Lone Tree, New London, Van Buren, WACO and Winfield-Mt. Union.

Teams are strongly encouraged by the state to play teams from the opposite district in non-district weeks.

The districts are aligned every two years, so this arrangement will be in effect through 2013.

There are 63 teams in Class A.
