The best set of promises? God’s

God for president?
How about Satan?
Members of the Montezuma ecumenical youth group talked politics at their meeting on Thursday, Feb. 7 in the Presbyterian Family Center.
They were organized into two “parties” and told to come up with a campaign.
They had some fun with this part.
“You win with Sin,” was the campaign slogan for Satan. “No winter here,” was a thought. Another: “Satan wants what you want.”
Over on the other side of the room, the students came up with, “Tired of the mess? Get real with God.” Also, “Good retirement plan,” and “Spirit guidance and an army of angels.”
Keaton Eilers, youth pastor at Community Hope Church, presided over the discussion. “The whole idea of politics is to convince people that what you have to offer is the best,” Eilers said.
“Politics on earth has turned into a ‘star’ thing, with 80% of people saying they’ll vote for the candidate to speaks best,” he said.
Then, the discussion turned more serious.
“We need to tell people, ‘this is what God has done in my life’” Eilers said. “God created us as He wants us to be.”
“We need to love God, and love our neighbors as we love ourselves,” he said. “A love of God results in love of other people.”
“Love,” Eilers said, “fixes a lot of problems.”
