Sports Shorts

Special t-shirts available
Braves and Bravettes fans t-shirts are available from the football team. They come in short sleeves ($10) and long sleeves ($15). For an extra $3, you can have your class year put on the back. Orders need to be in by Sept. 10. Order forms are available at Montezuma State Bank, or you can contact Debby Stanford.

Flag football planned for grades 1-2
A flag football league for first- and second-graders is being planned for this fall. There is a sign-up sheet available at the school.

Cheer clinic starts on Aug. 31
Want to cheer? Good, and this will help you . . .the Rah Rah Rookies Fall Cheer Clinic is set for Aug. 31 through Sept. 2. It's for kids in grades K-6 and it will be from 3:45 to 5 p.m. each day inthe Montezuma High School lounge area. The $20 cost includes a t-shirt. The students will perform Friday, Sept. 3, during halftime of the varsity football game, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Campers will be admitted free to the game. There is a registraton form and you can pick it up at school registration.

Star Lanes grand opening is Aug. 28
Star Lanes in Montezuma will host its grand opening event on Aug. 28, from 2 p.m. until midnight. Bowling will cost just $1 per game, all day. Prizes will be awarded, including a trip for two to Las Vegas. Also, fall leagues are forming. Call 623-5195 for details.

Athletic passes are available
Passes for school athletic events are on sale. For adults, it costs $100 and saves the bearer $118 on gate admissions. Student activity tickets cost $50, and save their owners $85. Senior citizens (65 and up) can receive free admission with their pass, but they need to sign up. Contact Tyler Lown, activities director, at 623-5121 for more information.

Boosters selling special cards
The Blue and White Athletic Booster Club are selling cards for $20 which provide bearers discounts and special offers at area merchants. The businesses include Montezuma Country Club, Tantastic at Three Sisters Fabric and Fashion, Vannoy Chevrolet, D.J. C-Stores, Casa Margaritas, Manestreet Hair Designers, Casey's, Texas Roadhouse and Taco Johns.
