Brynna Steele shoots for gold at state

CEDAR FALLS - Montezuma shooting sports competitor Brynna Steele has been one of the state's best female trap shooters all season, and she's out to prove it during the state meet this Friday and Saturday.
Brynna has competed in several 50-target meets this season. Her best four scores total 161 targets broken out of 200. That's enough to have her listed in fifth place among all girls in Iowa.
The top six will be recognized at this weekend's Iowa High School and Scholastic Clay Target Program championship meet.
"Bryn is determined to be in the top three and could very well move into the top spot this weekend," said her coach Lana Taylor. "The effort she has given our team this season, along with the support of her family, has built the confidence that every trap shooter needs in order to succeed."
"It's a mental game now," Taylor said. "If she can concentrate and hold her form through 200 targets on Friday and 100 targets in Saturday, well, she just might bring it all home!"
Taylor said Montezuma's intermediate division squad came on strong as the season progressed and possibly could finish among the state's top three.
